Show I Salt Lakes Trade in Fruit There has been a large trade among the Salt Lake fruit dealers this season which is now diminishing somewhat on account of home fruit filling the market During the season 2000 pounds of California II peaches plums grapes and every variety varie-ty of green fruits were received daily by I Salt Lake dealers nearly all of which came by express The firm of W S J Smith handled seventeen carloads of California oranges out of twenty I I five cars reaching here which I I averaged about 225 per box but now I at the close of the season they have risen to 350 per box and are scarce at that Imons are equally scarce and high priced at 12 a box The market is well supplied this year with Utah peaches apricots and apples which are of better quality than for years past The apples I are not so wormy and defective as heretofore I bushel here-tofore and are selling at 150 per |
