Show A SHORT SESSION Petitions and Reports Presented at the City Council meeting I Last Evening The usual weekly meeting of the City Council was held last evening and the following business was taken up W H Bancroft complained of trouble with hotel runners and hack drivers at the D R G depot and asked that Officer Calder or some other competent man be placed on duty there Referred to the Mayor Thomas Bessinger asked to be allowed to lease the Warm Springs at a rental of 125 per month Referred to the Committee Com-mittee on Public Grounds George Barr and a halfdozen other dealers asked for retail liquor licenses Granted The City Poundkeeper submitted his report for the three months ending with August 31st as follows Total number of animals impounded 30 5 horses 23 cows 2 calves cash received for impounded im-pounded animals 2625 cash received for forage for same 580 cash paid for forage375 total amount of cash real ized 2790 The report was ordered placed on file The Committee on Police reported the City Marshals report for August as correct cor-rect and also that of the Police Justice Reports approved The Committee on Irrigation reported adversely upon the petition of Richard Papworth asking permission to convey water through a pipe to his premises Report adopted The Committee on Streets and Alleys reported favorably upon the petition of T W Ellerbeckand and others The same committee reported as correct the report of the Street Supervisor Report adopted The committee to which was referred the petition Forselle and others asking for the filling of the old canal on Sixth street recommended the filling of the same Report approved The City Marshals contingent fund and the Waterworks contingent fund were reimbursed by an appropriation of 500 for the former and 2000 for the lat ter Council adjourned for one week I |
