Show I The JCnights Templar othstandng the ST LoU Sept 2Notthstanding broke clear ad fact that the morning postponed war and that the grand parade oolook the 11 Tuesday was to occur at 1 niornilig early this moring streets crowds on the eary previous than on any smaller were much smaler tha the citizens this week By9 morning from their I and visitors began to available emerge frm points of resting places and all avauawio observation along the line of march and in the vicinity of the places a rendezvous of the various divisions were soon occupied by a mass of patient and perspiring spectators Last nights and this mornings outgoing trains carried many departing Knights and visitors although the exodus is not sufficiently suf-ficiently large to make any appreciable diminution in the crowds on the streets Previous to the parade there was but little marching through the streets except so far as necessary to place the participants in position both musicians and Knights reserving re-serving their strength for the fourmile tramp later in the day But little breeze was blowing and the prospects for heat somewhat discouraged those who intended to take part in the process nAt n-At the Grand Encampment meeting of the Knights Templars yesterday the proceedings of which were not made known until late last night regrets of the Charleston S C were read and the attention atten-tion of the Committee on Finance was called to the deplorable condition of their brethren in that city A proposition to change the qualifications for membership in the Order of Knighthood was laid upon the table An amendment to change the clause of the constitution empowering the Grand Encampment to designate the time and place of the next encampment by substituting sub-stituting The encampment shall beheld be-held in the city of Washington D C in the month of December at such time and in said month as the Grand Master may direct was voted down by a large majority as was also the proposition to abolish parades and make the Grand Encampments purely business sessions |
