Show No Passes i PlllLDELllllA March 17 President Roberts I Rob-erts of tho Pennsylvania Railroad Company Com-pany this afternoon made public tho following fol-lowing official action taken by the board of directors of the company at a meeting held on the nth instant relative to the issue of passes This company having been advised by its general solicitor that the act of Congress known as the InterState Commerce law is intended to prohibit tho use of interState passes except bv officers and employees of railroad companies the president is therefore there-fore directed to issue to tho proper officers of the lines embraced in the Pennsylvania Railroad system the necessary instructions to carry this prohibition into effect on the 1st of April next He will also instruct the proper officers of the railway bridge and ferry companies embraced in the Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania Railway system that on and after April 1 1887 they shall not issue passes for the free transportation of persons or special cars from one State into another or into the District of Columbia except for officers or employes of the railway company |
