| Show < A BRIEF SESSION Nothing But Rega Routine Business Busi-ness Transacted Mayor Sharp presided at the regular meeting of the City Council last evening The following petitions were received E Thompson Wm Kemp and AV Pinney of the Nineteenth Ward asked the city to remove n mud hole in front of their residences by filling it up Granted W W Biter and others requested that the old Chase mill ditch be cleaned out preparation for the expected spring floods Referred to irrigation committee Augusta J Crocheron desired to purchase eight acres of land lying southeast of Ensign peak Referred i Re-ferred to the committee on public i grounds J J Burnside and several others I wanted foot bridges and a flume constructed con-structed across the canal Committee on irrigation I Robert Sherwood and others complained com-plained that the canal in their neighborhood neighbor-hood sent forth a very offensive stench and requested that it be covered up Referred to committee on canal I John Chapman was granted permission permis-sion to peddle oranges three months I without a license on account of poverty and old age Liquor licenses were granted P Mar etts and Brown Whiting and S A Gordon and Daniel Alexander were granted grant-ed licenses as auctioneers The street supervisor stated that Gen I McCook desired t have the grade of the terminus of Second South street established estab-lished in order that connection with it I and the new road from Ft Douglas might be more easily made Committee on I streets and alleys I Council adjourned for one week j j |
