Show I MIXING 3TATTERS Interesting News From the tines and Smelters I TIlE SAMPSON This company declared an Irish dividend divi-dend last Wednesday of fifty cents per share There are no startling developments develop-ments at the mine to record A force of twentyfive men is at work and the tunnel tun-nel is now in 800 feet A great deal of water is coming into the tunnel and there is every indication that the vein is almost reached Superintendent Jones thinks it will be encountereed by the middle of next month I Tic QUEE The Queen of the Hills mine amimill arc being worked night and day by a full force of men It is thought that shipments ship-ments of oe have been commenced although al-though no information to that effect has been received in this city THE HORN SILVER BULLION The largest shipment of bullion ever made from Utah and we think the largest ever made from the West is that recently made by tne Horn Silver company This company allowed its bullion to accumulate accumu-late at the smelter until 240 car loads were stacked up The rumor that it was held on account of difficulties on rates with the U P is given color by the fact that it was finally shipped over the D It G The movement of the bullion was commenced about two weeks ago and since that time one train per day consisting con-sisting fourteen cars has been sent out The bullion is now all loaded and in a few days the last bar will have been been shipped The value of these 240 carloads car-loads is about 600000 It is sent to re I tilling works at Aurora Ills and Mansfield Mans-field Pa It is reported that the company compa-ny has sold its Chicago works MAHYSVALE MINES Mr R Warnock has received fourteen samples of ore from his Morning Star and Northern Star mines The samples assay as high as 285 ounces in silver and t36 in gold Two tons of ore brought up to this city for a test sold for 117 per ton The mines have been worked energetically since last September The concentrator will start up as soon as the weather permits MINING NOTES Mr M S Ascheim who returned from Anaconda this morning reports the immense im-mense copper works at that place in full operation about 500 men being employed em-ployed The past week is reported a dull one by j ore buyers as but very little ore has been coming in I I Eightyfive cars of bullion eleven cars I of lead and nineteen of ore were shipped out of Salt Lake during the week just I I ended The heavy bullion shipment is accounted for by the Horn Silver movement I move-ment I |
