Show PARK POINTERS The usual Interesting Inventory from the Ontario Camp Correspondenceof THE DEMOCRAT W J Hardin is resting up in the city of Zion Mr H 0 Young our popular merchant mer-chant left the Park Wednesday morning morn-ing for California Mr Young has been I troubled with heart disease for some time i past and to remedy the trouble and regain I re-gain his former good health the doctors have urged him to try the climate of California He remains a few days in Salt Lake and then proceeds to San Francisco His many friends in the Park wish him a safe and beneficial trip Lynn Kimball while trying to manage an unruly horse last Friday received a kick on his right hand that will keep it out of use for some time The knuckles of the third and fourth fingers were se gashed that it was necessary to have them sewed up Dr Whitford took the stitches and dressed the hand Mr Kimball left for his home in Salt Lake Saturday Corey Street got back Monday night from a few days visit to the city on business busi-ness and pleasure Mr George Pierson is in town again after three or four days spent in the metropolis An accident happened at the Marsac mill Tuesday in which Alfred Swensen was the victim While dumping a car of pulp into one of the pans he slipped and fell into the almost redhot mass His arms and shoulders were badly burnt but he is under good care and will be around again in a few weeks The sympathy of many friends in Park City go out to Mr and Mrs John Vorcoe in their sorrow over the death of their two little ones Mrs Varcoe with her children was on a visit to her parents in the city when the children took sick and j followed each other to the grave Bron1 i I chitis which has taken away so many j little ones in the Park during the past month attacked them and nothing could be done to save them Mrs A B Emery is in Salt Lake attending I at-tending the Abbott performances The pleasant weather of the past week has brought the daily attendance of the schools up to its former average The different schools in town are full and doing do-ing good work Julius Olsen mashed one of his fingers at the Ontario mill last Friday He was carrying a shaft which he dropped catching catch-ing his finger under it and mashing it so that he will be unable to work for sometime some-time Geo Allen an employe of the Marsac mill was suffering last Tuesday with something like a fit caused by arsenic poisoning Large quantities of arsenic are inhaled by the men at the mills and sometimes it affects them rather queerly Mr Allen is the latest victim and while under the influence of the poison he could see rabbits chickens and other animals and even fruits corning out of the flue which he tried to kill and capture cap-ture by throwing rocks at them As soon as it passed offhe drew his time and left thinking that he had enough of arsenic for the present M A Ascheim J H Bowen and J Huse Jr registered at the Park City Hotel Wednesday from Salt Lake The regular monthly dividend of the Ontario mine amounting to 75000 was paid last Tuesday Mackintoshs sampler received during the last week 608665 pounds of Ontario ore and 55580 pounds of Daly ore total for the week 664245 pounds The progressive euchre party at the residence of Mr F S Fox Saturday evening was a pleasant affair and thoroughly thor-oughly enjoyed by all present Euchre seems to be quite a craze in the Park at present and the parties given lately have been as merry and jolly as only Park City people know how to be merry and jolly Among the guests of Mr and Mrs Fox Saturday evening were Mr and Mrs A B Emory Mr and Mrs L Backus Mr and Mrs G Gullivar Mr and Mrs A C Hammond Dr and Mrs Newsom Mr and Mrs E H Buchanon Mrs Greenleaf Mrs Huey Mr and Mrs R Grant Mr and Mrs Lindorfer I Miss Whittemore M G Foote and H G I Bates Mrs Greenleaf secured the first ladys prize and Mr Backus the first I gentlemans prize while Mrs Hammond obtained the second ladys prize and Mr Emory the second gentlemans The booby prizes were won by Mrs Gul I livar and Mr Grant I CITY COUNCIL MEETING jOn IOn j I-On Wednesday night the City Council obtained a quorum and held their first meeting in many weeks The business transacted was the usual routine business busi-ness A B Patten representing the Temple of Honor was granted the use of the City Attorneys room for the meetings I meet-ings of that order until another room I could be secured Reports from the different committees were read and approved The relief committee reported that the necessaries of life had been provided the families of Mrs Arthur and Mrs Burns The city jail was reported by the city property committee as being unfit for usefit being be-ing too cold and damp The fitting up of Firemens hall for jail purposes was ordered by the council C A S |
