| Show Closing Exercises of St Marks The closing exercises of St Marks School took place yesterday afternoon and were of a very interesting nature The programme was well sustained by the scholars and demonstrated to the friends and parents present the fine method meth-od of instruction which characterizes this excellent school Tho vocal solo by Ede Keats the dialogue by Misses Crockwell and Miller and other exercises by Lillian Showell and Mary Hands received much praise from the audience Misses Larson and Miss Lizzie Ilyslop read compositions of much merit For excellence in sewing Agnes Smith Fanny Allen Minnie Jones Fanny Sharkey and Grace Jacobs were rewarded with silver thimbles In gymnastics gym-nastics silver medals were presented to Arthur Tuttle John Putnam Harry Ly man Georgie Wheeler Alice Harper and Lillian Showell Miss Lorena Larson and Arthur Tuttle carried off the prizes for compostion A vacation will now ensue till the commencement of the new school year September 7th |
