Show The Base Ball League NEW YORk March 9Delegates to the League Ball meeting met in secret session at noon Monday to take up the question of the eighth club matter After discussion it was referred back to a committee who have the matter in charge with instructions to listen to the various propositions and report re-port the conclusions to the full league at a subsequent meeting The league then adjourned ad-journed and the committee of three Day Young and Spalding began their work The committee was in session until 7 oclock and adjourned without reaching a conclusion The Indianapolis delegate offered 12000 for the franchise of the St Louis club The St Louis delegate thought the amount too small but said he would consider it and give an answer tomorrow at 10 oclock The schedule was not taken up for the disposal of Denny and Glascook The Kansas City club has withdrawn its offer of 20000 for the St Louis franchise which improves the chances of the Indianapolis Indian-apolis Six of the seven members it is understood un-derstood favor the Hoosiers and Spalding who supported the Kansas City said that he was reasonably sure that the Indianapolis would be the eighth club Reach Day Rowe Soden Hewitt Stearns and Conart were confident that the Indianapolis would I be n winning card |
