Show America should make alternative fuels conservation a priority Christena White Contributing Writer It is very sad how uneducated we Americans are on the topic of Alternative Energy Other especially Brazil and Argentina have capitalized on their abundant supply of sugar cane and andare andare andare are converting into fuel Currently over 1 million vehicles use this fuel which produces no emissions and thus preserves the atmosphere and the ozone layer America on the other hand is barely scratching the surface of this technology's potential a potential these other countries have been researching and implementing for years The United States doesn't have 1 million alternative fuel vehicles in use We Weare Weare Weare are supposed to or at we least should be the leaders in alternative fuel development With a current administration that believes our only energy sources need to be gas and oil the general public has not been afforded the opportunity to get funding for research to promote and develop this technology for widespread everyday use The general publics public's feeling about new technologies according Green Car Journals Journal's Editor and Publisher Ron Cogan is that these innovations must prove themselves a at the outset or die The gasoline hybrid for example just needs to pass the test of time an opportunity that should be given to all new alternative fuel technologies including b but t not limited to ethanol hydrogen and bio- bio diesel Alternative fuel technology's value is measured by its usefulness to the public but the rationality of its use can be set aside or ignored if the criteria doesn't meet or exceed the stand standards were we're accustomed to with current technology As a nation we can and must become more educated on the potential of this technology before we make the transition to using cleaner fuels and having cleaner air I congratulate the manner in iri which some Americans have taken it upon themselves to develop or and/or use alternative fuel technology such as hybrid ethanol and bio This is an expensive albeit American way to help solve or at least alleviate the oil price and fossil fuel consumption problems until the current perhaps a future administration turns rums on to alternative fuel The average American is getting tired of paying 3 for a gallon of gas It is time for us all to break down and get more educated on the alternative fuel or green burning technologies and get our state and federal representatives meaningfully involved It is time to save our planet with our own natural resources and waste products It is time timeto to make strategic changes in direction to consider all alternative fuel options We either do this or continue in the same direction until the serious stage were we're in now is a thing of the past and our energy problems become energy crises CrIses |
