Pub Pub- lic Relations Intramural Sports all had their own separate separate separate sep sep- arate committees for planning planning planning plan plan- ning and organizing student activities on campus This presented a lot of as each department had to meet with their own committees and then hopefully everyone merged together for a fourth big meeting where finishing details could be worked out This is the reason that SLAP Student Leaders for Activities and Publicity was formed Instead of having having having hav hav- ing 4 separate meetings of the individual committees the committees have been merged into one large board This allows more input and organization of activities for forthe forthe forthe the students on campus Objectives of this union are areas areas areas as follows 1 SLAP would spark interest interest interest in in- terest in student government The board is made up of students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents for the benefit of the students 2 SLAP establishes a permanent com committee for Activities PR Intramural Sports 3 Introduction of more students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents to student government its it's responsibilities and op op- op 4 Provide necessary help for the Activities Council including including including in in- noon concerts rock and roll bands dances le lectures lectures lec lec- tures seminars workshops assemblies movies etc Public Relations which is advertising and promotion of all activities keeps the students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents informed as to what's going on on campus and After almost two Leadership Lead Lead- classes offered to the Executive Council Members This would give each member member member mem mem- ber an extra 2 credit hours each quarter in Political Science The first meeting of SLAP included students who are genuinely interested in student government and representatives from all t the e clubs on campus Curtis Smout the CC Director informed informed informed in in- formed us that this meeting had the largest attendance of any activities meetings in the past 4 years Needless to say were we're all proud as hell From just the first meeting meeting meeting meet
