Show c a 7 1 J dJ d. d f f 1 T 1 I A At d J U At Shout A j ee tc t.- t. r r E wyt wy- wy t t- t h iy k h s rL v i I za zaM k M t J The students of the art dept presented their works for everybody's enjoyment The show contained a completely divers diversified array of commercial art and design Exhibits in the show ranged from 1 advanced techniques to cartooning J On The overall outlook the show was a large success The cartooning cartoon cartoon- ing big logo design and photography were not up to par and left some tobe to tobe tobe be desired Illustration and layout design were definitely high points not to be missed But But in the opinion of most of the art lovers Advanced techniques w were re the highlight ci Many of the artists showed a complete knowl knowledge dge of the art field whether it be commercial layout or the more ore sensitive fine art Robert Noyce walked away with the big prize winning the e Best of Show Award Ro Robert rt also picked up two excellence awards coming away with Artist of the Show Other multiple winners include Bernice Willard and Mathew Waki Waldo Excellence awards were given in hi each category Winners included Eric Benton Crawford Doug Allen Paul Sorensen Jack Martin Charly May and Gary Graham Many others were awarded Honorable Mention and are to be congratulated congratulated congratulated and complimented on their efforts The students have put forth a lot of time tinie in presenting this show and n efforts efforts' they were awarded award dm in another manner manner In studies of the art program it is stressed ed that a full background geared for today's needs is the most important base for landing a job in hi the commercial art field and the show in itself has shown the complete and large background und that the students are attaining We wish them all the best of luck in hi their future endeavors The judges of the show were Joel Izatt artist at Evans Advertising Ralph Reynolds art editor of New Era magazine and George Samuelson technical illustrator at Hercules Inc One sour note that came from the show is a problem of security Most all the works displayed at the show will end up in one of the students' students portfolios Losing any of these works is a loss of time and money for the students At the time this article is being written their has already been the loss of a T shirt and other forms of vandalism fingerprints and smudges to the works of th the show It really doesn't say much for the students of and it kind of makes me wonder what people think about while they are destroying other peoples people's work and property pull your head out A 9 h I r M ii 4 Mid d C CEl s I S q r ui El ElJ J r L |
