A Assistance y Program Extended Fort Douglas Utah 01 Oct 1986 Effective immediately the Army's Tuition Assistance T TA A Program is being extended to all members of Army Reserve Troop Program Units units actively engaged in Army Reserve activities Lieutenant Colonel Marland J. J Burckhardt Commander of the US U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Salt Lake City announced today This new Tuition Assistance Program will allow soldiers in the Army Army- Reserve to pursue personal and professional goals by paying a major portion of their costs said Lieutenant Colonel Burckhardt The TA is available to members to include enlisted personnel as well as warrant and commissioned officers and may be used for taking courses which lead to toa toa toa a certificate diploma or degree to include high school completion undergraduate courses and graduate school A soldier may attend only institutions that are REGIONALLY ACCREDITED and which accept the TA Program Courses payable by the Tuition Assistance Program are usually limited to one course per semester or or- quarter however ver the Unit UnitI I Commander may authorize benefits up to two courses per semester or f r rf f quarter said Colonel Burckhardt Under this program the Government will pay percent of the tuition costs for high school completion courses Ninety percent of college tuition is paid by the Government for enlisted soldiers E 5 or above with less than 14 years of service Other soldiers to include officers receive 75 percent tuition assistance Ready Reserve commissioned officers must agree to remain in the Ready Reserve for 4 years following completion of the course for which T TA A was provided Enlisted soldiers must have enough time remaining on their current enlistment to complete the course Individuals already in the Army Reserve may obtain more information on this program program by contacting their Commanding Officer the nearest active duty Army Education Center or from Major US Army y Reserve Command Education Officers Young men and women interested in m joining or l learning ng more about the Army Reserve including this new Tuition Ass Assistance stance Program should conta contact t thet their nearest Army Recruiter He is listed in the Yellow Pages under Recruiting |
