Show EIRE department STOPS BRUSH FIRE fine IN SOUTH CREEK volunteer fire department part ment answered a call saturday afternoon to a brush fire in south creek started by small children who were picnicking picnic ing in the area flames from their camp fire caught on the dry grass and oak leaves and soon spread out of control there were several scouts on the job who ran to the neighbors for water buckets and carried hundreds of buckets of water from the creek to dampen the grass and leaves to stop the fire from spreading chief hess says that their timely work was largely responsible for the fire being kept under control since the area was inaccessible ces sible to mechanized mechanised equipment something less than an acre of ground was burned over with no real dama damage ge other than the loss of some feed |
