Show Blan blanding column by margie IJ II lyman I 1 san juan wins again the san juhn ju hn bronchus Bron chos were j 1 vi victorious ct orious in two more games the last of the week thursday night altamont Alt emont high school lost to them and friday nucla eucla colo high was badly defeated from the time the whistle blew for far the game to begin our boys were on their toes and kept the lead f from rain start to finish town team plays mesa college friday night the blanding town team was defeated in a fast and furious game at grand junction colo with mesa college the game was broadcast over immediately following the game here with nucla eucla welfare committee meets p beets the san juan stake st ak welfare committee with president leland redd in charge met in the stake presidents office sunday at p in to allot the various wards their share shaie of the 1949 welfare budget most of the committee members were present and the time was profitably spent R S bazaar a success the grayson ward relief society bazaar was a wonderful success in in every way at p m the children were permitted to do their buying from a long table full of little toys and gifts which take a childs eye delicious food was sold from four until about eight in the evening cafeteria style at seven the other gifts were on display and the sale be gan at they had a most t beautiful display of fancy work quilts aprons and childrens clothing one long table was piled high with choice homemade home made candy at the close of the sale only a few scattered articles were left and the relief society presidency felt much richer they expect to dispose of the remaining articles before christmas Mission aires honored the quorum of seventies held a welcome home party last tuesday evening in the blanding ward meeting house in honor of mr and mrs airs heber carroll and elder oris G black who have recently returned to blanding after completing missions mr air and mrs I 1 carroll labored in the spanish american mission and oris was in the northern states mission A very interesting evening was mas spent musical numbers were given and short talks were made by men members ibers of the presidency of the quorum and the missionaries as well as by oris parents and charlie carroll A very nice lunch was served and all who attended enjoyed a pleasant evening |
