| Show home of truth by MARIE M OGDEN quite a change in weather conditions since our last statement about the lovely mild weather over the last weekend week end after several days of wind and rain and some snow in the valley temperatures dropped to six above zero and continued to hover around that low mark over the past weekend week end 0 our thanksgiving dinner party prepare prepared I and served by catherine was a huge success and much enjoyed by the ten of us who were served delicacies we had almost forgotten existed everything from soup to nuts except the traditional turkey was provided but as a substitute catherine prepared prepare 1 a delicious vegetable loaf with tomato and mushroom sauce As a a special treat she had bad arranged to have the dessert sent from cleveland from an exclusive pastry shop individual almond paste tarts choice crackers and cheese nuts and candies rounded out the dinner menu which was served at three attractive favors surmounted with miniature turkeys and filled with candy added color to the daintily set table we wish that many of our distant friends could have looked in to 0 see the pretty table set with catherines best china and real silver we lingered awhile after dinner before leaving for our respective homes and needless to say the memory of another happy thanksgiving day get together will remain forever 0 daisy and mary came to town tuesday and wednesday to make one of the mattresses w we P are receiving as mentioned on another page the result of a project being sponsored by the extension service department of the AAA A A A I 1 not only do we appreciate the new mattress but the opportunity to learn how to make one 0 the men are busy hauling hay from monticello to the valley and cutting wood for winter fuel these unusually cold days make it imperative to stock up with extra supplies of wood earlier than usual |
