| Show tax bills to face state legislatures in 1941 CHICAGO predicting that bills will be introduced in the 43 state legislatures to meet in 1941 mrs melville mucklestone president of thi national consumers tax commission warned the nationwide nation wide membership that no fewer than will be tax bills she added that if the lawmakers run true to form they will enact into law more than 1800 of the tax bills or an average of 43 per state the forecast was based on a study just completed by the organizations research staff while many of the laws will be amendments to existing laws her message stated and others will be new and necessary financial measures a few will be deliberate and wholly unwarranted flank attacks on the taxpayers pocketbook the legislative study was based on a survey of bills presented in the 18 isla tive bodies which met in 1 ro j during these sessions an av er fot 1395 bills were introduced in each of which were tax bills |
