Show amateurs give fine program at closing M I 1 A meeting 0 by isabelle isabella redd the M 1 I A seasons work was brought to a close on tuesday evening with an excellent program in which much tallent was displayed cash prizes were awarded to those who were considered the winners by the audience A sex which included young palmer foy boyd and jack brown weyman redd and robert sitton under the di lection of lon kennard presented numbers by stephen poster foster and awarded first place A reading by alene redd in which she excelled was given second place I 1 A piano duett by patsy bailey and joyce adams was outstanding and was awarded third place kirk dalton gave interesting imitations and gary martin sang two tr 0 o numbers which delighted the space will not permit giving the detail of other fine numbers presented altho mention is made of thern them as follows vocal trio clydia and afton barton and josie redd saxa phone solo lucy redd tap 1 dance clyda barton french I 1 horn solo claudia I 1 young milli military dance kathleen and maryln I 1 redd and louise neilson vocal I 1 solo afton afton barton and harmonica solo wesley norton I 1 philip hurst stake Y M M L 1 JA president and mrs garda ad ams president of the Y W M L A were present and gave short talks I 1 the entertainment closed with a social hour and dancing punch and cookies were served much credit is due to the sponsors of this fine entertainment and it is hoped a similar program will be repeated at a later date since there is so much fine talent in monticello which should be encouraged cou raged |
