Show photographs AVAILABLE speaking of scenery reminds us to say that but two of the ten pioneer residents who were photographed in blanding in the late spring who were invited to call for a photo of the group have responded to the invitation to receive their allotment from mr S C richardson who recently sent to the record office some of the very fine large stills and some smaller ones for distribution the group picture is exceptionally good and the large photos are as nearly like steel etchings as anything we have ever seen the views include outstanding spots near the famous hole in the wall and are remarkable photos of this memorable place alar e close to the southern border line of our state the heavy rains of the early part of last week have made of the desert country all around us a place of beau beauty ty again as evidences of green appear and desert flowers are in in bloom in a variety of colors if it were not for the wash outs in certain places and a few dangerous spots in sections leading from the highway the by byways ways would be worth your while to travel since they carry one into the heart of this vast domain and into the most beautiful and quiet places where one cani can gain refreshment and peace the labor day program on the blues just west of town was another outstanding event of the week although the skies were gray all morning a goodly number turned out for the field day sports in the afternoon these civic events help to draw closer together the people who live in neighboring communities and afford opportunity to enjoy the mountain mounta iv scenery as well |
