| Show improvements improvements voted for monticello school building county k ccok C bard B ard elds all day session ay 1 and considers many questions of importance I 1 the san juan county school board met in Mon monticello monticell 10 jast hist tuesday with the following members present leland W I 1 redd ledd chairman joseph W adams estelle nielson geo A hurst also acting clerk geo M palmer on motion of mr hurst the I 1 ol lowing levies for school purposes were approved general maintenance 96 mills bond interest 15 mills bond dinki sinking I 1 ng fund 25 mills in all three cases the levies are the same as tor last year on motion of member nielson it was decided to insure the new high school at blanding for 90 per cent of its cost upon its completion this will call for in additional insurance there being of insurance at the present time on motion of mr hurst seconded by mrs nielson the mileage expense for R N murdock for june and july was allowed and ordered paid A delegation from lockerby met with the board requesting the establishment of a school at or near park acres or near W J longs the problem was discussed at some length but action was deferred pending borther investigation on the part of the board A delegation from east summit point also met with the board urging the establishment of a school at that place in this case also the matter was thoroughly discussed but no action was taken inasmuch as the member of the board representing this district was absent from the meeting the delegation was assured however that definite action would be taken as soon as possible arthur holt also waited upon the board requesting a school be established at south canyon the matter was considered but no action taken C blain perkins the auditor employed to audit the books of the ri chool school district and suggest im prove ments in the bookkeeping and accounting system complimented superintendent hansen on the condition of the accounts in consideration of the handicap of the system of books employed the clerk was instructed jo 0 search the files of redeemed coupons and see that all were duly cancelled to prevent their being presented again for payment on motion of mr adams the system of bookkeeping and accounting being installed by auditor perkins was approved to close the old books and establish the new system on motion of mrs nielson sec by hurst adams and palmer of the school organization were instructed to proceed fit r baith the repairs and renovation of the monticello school building which includes a new roof on part of the building and renova turn to page sixteen improvements VOTED FOR monticello SCHOOL BUILDING continued from first page ting the interior was appropriated from the auditorium jund fund end and from the general fund for this purpose making a total expenditure of 1500 for foi the improvements the contract for the new roofing lias been let to lynn C layton of salt lake city the board instructed geo A hurst the Blan blanding dink member to continue as clerk of the high school construction until the next meeting it having been brought to the attention of the board that the inspection of all boilers in public buildings is required the matter was discussed but aati action on was de ferreld for the time being the board voted to employ lorenzo hawkins as janitor of the new blanding high school building at a salary of 80 per month |
