Show town board civic organizations plan town cleanup day the monticello town board met monday in regular monthly session with the entire board present by invitation there were also present at the meeting mrs eva black of the relief society mrs frank halls of the rebus rota club geo M palmer of the civic club wilford christensen head of the boy scouts and mrs donald adams for the schools president summers announced that they had been invited domeet to meet with the board to plan a cleanup day for or the town and asked for suggestions as to the best way to organize and carry out the campaign after some discussion it was decided to set friday april 15 as the day the property owners of the town to be asked in individually dividu al ly to clean up their premises before the day set those not having any means of removing trash from their premises to have it piled up so that it could be hauled away on the day set president summers was named chairman of the cleanup committee and the civic club was delegated to see that conveyances are had to cart away trash mrs donald adams was named to plan the cleanup for the school ground and the ladies organizations of the town were asked to see that rakes and tools are available for the workers mrs laura allred met with the board and asked that a street be opened on the west side of town so that people wishing to go from the south to the north side would not have to go a block east and then back to their destina tion after some questions and discussion she was given assurance that the matter would be looked into A letter was read from the state drouth relief equipment committee about the drouth relief pipe line installed in 1934 to increase the monticello water supply for the town after discussion it was decided to send a delegation to salt lake city to meet with the committee on the ath and the clerk was instructed to notify the committee discussion of purchase of pipe with which to improve the town water system and minor matters took up some time after which the board adjourned |
