| Show ORMER FORMER RECORD EDITOR IN FATAL RAIL CRASH word was received here last saturday afternoon that while leslie T foy and john johnson of moab were crossin crossing the denver and rio grande western track at crescent in in their truck ruck they were struck by a freight train rain the men were rushed to green river kiver for first aid where it was found mr foy had suffered a crushed hip and frontal skull fracture while imn johnson sustained basali basal skull fracture and other injuries they were then brought to the grand county hospital at moab sunday morning the residents of san juan county were shocked to learn that mr foy had bad died at an barlier hour mr air foy was born in monticello in 1891 1894 after fillin filling a mission in holland for the LS church he served in the world war over seas remaining on duty in france for six months after the dr armistice was signed in the fall of 1919 he came to monticello Montie ello where he filled the position of editor of the san juan record later he pubIs punished hed papers in logan utah anil and ItI malad alad idaho in 1922 he married florence tuttle of bountiful beside his widow lip lie is survived by five daughters and a son jean lola julia inez sarah and leslie T foy jr his father thomas B foy of moab a brother and four sisters claude foy monticello Montie ello mrs edna fleiger long beach california Cali fonia mrs elsie tindell los angeles california mrs maud lester temple california Cai fornia mrs firn fern san gabriel california returning here from logan in 1932 mr foy and his family later moved to moab where he was appointed manager of the national Re employment service covering grand and san juan counties until the office was discontinued lasic summer he was prominent L D S church worker and a leader 0 of f the boy scout organization at moab mr F foy oy was an active member TOe raber of the american legion being secretary of the levi taylor post at the time of his death funeral services were held in moab at 2 p m tuesday after which the body was taken to bountiful where here the american legion will officiate cate in military burial after school closes this spring in moab mrs foy F ov and family will return to bountiful fui to make their sture future home hoin e many people from monticello Montie ello and blanding attended the funeral service at moab |
