Show rep leland redd favors health unit nit legislation Legli EXPRESSES VIEWS IN LETTER TO BLANDING HEALTH COUNCIL in a letter received by dr 1 I IF ar cohn chairman Cn airman of the manding blandin health council in rr rpy to aletter from that organization which was wag published in lost lest weel s Bl blanding arding section of to kacon representative redd has ier i red re er 1 d l that he is heartily in accord v vh h i views and as pro missEd his support to the bill the letter follows salt lake city utah february 11 1937 mr 1 I M cohn chairman blanding health council blanding utah pear dear mr cohn I 1 was very glad to get your letter relative to the proposed health legislation which as for its purpose te setting up of ten complete health units through the state this is a measure that has been very controversial contro versal public hearin hearings gg have been held on this matter the large centers are very much opposed to this measure because it does away with the present health setup set up in the larger cities and towns I 1 am convinced the same as you that it will benefit our section of the country and shall support the same however it is apparent that it will be very much more expensive to operate than the system that we now have this is a move that will benefit the country districts largely at the expense of the larger centers and I 1 shall luse use my influence for the passa passage ge of this measure I 1 been able to put over my pet school measure as yet measures that tend to equalize in school continued on page 8 HEALTH UNIT legislation continued from page ge 1 affairs are resisted resi isted ery by the larger and ric i ic pr cr districts they all sav thov for rozaliza tion lion but all the politicians a are afraid to vote for any measure that would benefit someone else at their expense however we have started something that I 1 think will ultimate ly be very beneficial to our under edged children in san juan as far as school matters are arc concerned yours very truly leland acland W redd we suggest that al voters in san juan county drop a card or letter to rep leland redd and senator wendall peterson at the utah state capitol at salt lake city urging them to do all they can to make this bill I 1 a law and thus give our cou county ity and all other sparsely populated sections more funds for the care of our sick and injured and a better staff to carry on fin this important work |
