Show SAN JUAN II 11 5 AWAITS ACTION OF CONGRESS having coni complied plied in all ail necessary detail supt bupt H 1 1 lloyd hansen I 1 authorized by the san juin school district doard board made application for a grant giant gi ant for the erection ot of a high school building at manding anding BI to replace the one destroyed by fire fi last marell march this application has been in the possession of the administrator of public works for several weeks and in checking up tip as to the cause of delay sir mr hanson received the following letter lettera from congressman abe murdock washington Was hinston P C may 20 1037 1937 11 II lloyd hansen supt bupt of schools monticchio Mon lo 10 utah rear eai sir mr hansen this will acknowledge receipt of your night letter regarding the blanding anding BI project As you know I 1 have been in communication and conference with the administrator of public works since my return to td washington and have done everything in my power to bring about the approval of this project I 1 shall continue to do so whether or not the project cabbe can be approved upon the loan and grant basis will depend upon what action congress Cong rss takes with respect to the public works program if the functions of the public works are properly extended and adequate funds ire are provided I 1 am co confident rif ident the money will wi 11 be allocated for the bland ing project at an early date I 1 a in a firm believer inthe hi the nse merit of the public works program ind am doing everything in my power to have it extended 1 yours very truly abe mardock As reported to the record some time ago mr hansen furnished attested bank evidence that the san juan school district has the required i 05 per cent on deposit for this project thus eliminating the necessity of a federal loan funds should be forthcoming as ag soon as congress takes proper action |
