Show THE disorderly SPIRIT people who attend the athletic events of schools remark that at some of these affairs it appears to be a kind of student custom to tear up into small pieces the scorecards scorecards score cards cards ra a or programs that are given to the spectators and scatter them all over the seats the boys and girls are overflowing with their fun and is seems to give them quite a kick to tear up these pieces of paper and hurl them into the air if all those minute scraps are swept out of those stands it will mean a great amount of work little pieces of paper cling to woodwork and to the ground and many of them would have to be picked up one by one probably in many of these school athletic fields where this trick is seen such paper scraps are not picked up for a whole season thus spoiling the appearance of the place if anyone complained of such tricks it would be remarked that boys will be boys some people seem to feel that boys and girls must be given full limit to do just as they please no matter how much trouble and disorder they cause it must be tolerated as inseparable from youth the above is only onla one instance of the thoughtless though less spirit that so many children show in many towns the streets over which many school pupils pass on their way to school are baal badly y littered with pieces of paper this habit is of course indulged in also by some older people and yet after anyone acquires a home of his own and finds out what continuous effort it takes to keep it neat and clean it ceases to seem funny to him to throw litter into the streets for someone else to pick up it all goes to confirm the remark of an old timer who used to tell the boys of his neighborhood that they had a great deal to learn before they were 80 years old 0 |
