Show BOUNTIFUL GIRLS Girls looking tough 1a rin i a '1 X E 'i I a I 1 MICHELE BEHL (23), Kris Rose (25), and Heidi Olsen (11) will help lead the Lady Braves into league action this week. Bountiful is generally considered a good bet to finish at least third in region. It's been sort of an up-and-down season for the Lady Braves of coach Jill Avery, no basketball pun intended. Bountiful bounced back from a season-opening loss at Weber We-ber to finish second in the Woods Cross tournament. WITH A practice game against Layton last Tuesday still to play, the Braves were 4-3. Still, their consistency seems to be improving, impro-ving, and they have an excellent chance to finish in third, or higher, in Region Four. Guards are juniors Heidi Olsen, 5-5 and Kris Rose, 5-5. Olsen may have made the longest shot of any Utah prep player this year, a 60- foot prayer against Olympus in the championship game of the Woods Cross tournament. But she is also an excellent assist player. AVERY USES two towers inside, in-side, senior Jill Westergard, 5-11, and junior Michele Behl, 5-1 1. Forward For-ward Robyn Riley, a 5-6 senior, also starts. Reserves who have seen extensive exten-sive action thus far for the Lady Braves include 6-0 junior Jana Murdock, and 5-II sophomore Lisa Wilkinson. Though the team features only two seniors, Avery has molded them into a cohesive unit that should fare well this season. |
