Show LIQUOR COMMISSION DUTIES TOLD BY JEANETTE GARNER With an interesting question and answer period following a brief explanation of the activities activi-ties and duties of the Utah State Liquor Commission, Mrs. Jeanette Garner, commissioner of enforcement, enforce-ment, addressed members of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce Wednesday noon at the regular bi-monthly meeting of the group held at Knight's Tea Room. Mrs. Garner, discussing soma of the problems the commission comes in contact with, explained that the commission does not foster salesmanship in the employes em-ployes at the liquor stores. They are told that they are in their job merely as a convenience to those who wish to buy liquor. The state has taken over the liquor dispensing to do away with the evils of bootlegging. Mrs. Garner said, and to reap the profits of liquor sales for the state's upkeep rather than to let them go to the racketeers that existed during bootleg days. The. speaker came to the meet-at meet-at the invitaion of Mrs. Peggy Merrill, Mrs. Bertha Barnes and Mrs. Ethel Robinson, Chamber of Commerce members who arranged arrang-ed the day's program.
