This week the Bulletin extends "Birthday Greetings" to Hiram G. Acocks of 1154 Garfield Avenue, a Sugar House resident for the past six years. Mr. Acocks celebrated cele-brated his birthday, Tuesday. November No-vember 25th. Although born in Salt Lake City, he received the first five years of his schooling in Ruth, Nevada, at which time his parents par-ents moved back to Salt Lake City where he received the remainder re-mainder of his education. "Hi" joined the forces oft the Utah Light and Traction Company Com-pany on January 31st, 1924, and although still young in years, he is one of the company's older employes, and holds the position of Second Class Auto Mechanic. As a bowler he needs no introduction intro-duction to the members of the UPALCO league. Not only being be-ing one of the original members of the league, which was organized organ-ized in 1936, he holds the league individual three game series for this season. He is a fellow who is never quite satisfied, especially especial-ly concerning his bowling score. On November 6th, his score for three gmes was 221-188-206 for a total of 615, and just to show it was no "Fluke'1 he came right back with 191-243-208 for 642. In addition to bowling his other oth-er hobbies are deer hunting and fishing. Hiram celebrated his birthday at home in the company of his wife and three children. |
