Come January we begin to think of enticing casseroles, oven puddings, etc., so how about an easy receipe to perk up your tired winter menu? "A Man's Casserole" should do the trick. Keceipe Cook until tender 'i pound pound or 4 cups medium noodles. Drain and rinse. In large skillet saute three or four chopped, medium onions in butter until tender set aside In same skillet cook about 10 minutes two pounds ground beef in 1 tablespoon salad or olive oil, adding 2 teaspoonsful salt, y2 tea-spoonful tea-spoonful pepper and 1 tea-spoonful tea-spoonful thyme add sauted onion. In three quart casserole arrange ar-range one third of noodles, then one-half meat mixture and one-half of one can condensed con-densed cream-of-celery soup diluted with y2 cup milk. Arrange the remaining noodles on top. Refrigerate. About iy4 hours before serving, heat oven to 350 degrees de-grees F. Sprinkle iy2 cups grated cheese over t o p of caserole. Pour three beaten eggs over cheese. Bake uncovered un-covered one hour, or until hot, bubbly and lightly browned. Makes 8 to 10 servings. Until next week then, Good-Bye and Good Eating. |
