Show Musicians From 3 High Schools Will Combine Under Guest Leaders Musicians from three Granite District high schools, Olympus, Cyprus, and Granite, will appear in a combined chorus in the Granite High School Auditorium, Saturday. Feb. 4, at 8:15 p. m. Two guest conductors, Harold A. Decker, founder of the Wichita Choral Society, and James P. Robertson, conductor of the Wichita University syn phony, will direct the combined choirs and orchestras. Both directors, di-rectors, from Wichita University Universi-ty are widely known in the mid-west, east and southern part of the United States for their outstanding achievements with large choral and orchestral groups. The schools have received prominence because of this first time appearance of out of state conductors on the high school district level. Local directors of the choirs and orchestra include Ormon R. Weight and Kenly W. White-lock, White-lock, Olympus; James D. Maher, and Wells A. McAllister, Cyprus; H. Deane Alsop, Lee Humphries, and Bernell W. Hales, Granite. |
