Show OLYMPUS HIGH DEDICATED AT CEREMONIES Olympus high, 4055 South 23rd East, one of the nation's finest schools, was dedicated Monday evening. eve-ning. John E. Papanikolas, board member, mem-ber, presented the building to the school personnel, and it was accepted ac-cepted by Dr. Kenneth Farrar, principal, during the dedicatory exercises. Also included in the exercise was an address by Supt. David Gour- ley, the A Capella choir and the school orchestra under the direction of Kenly Whitelock and Orrman R. Weight, respectively. A solo was sung by Whitelock. and Dr. O. C. England director of secondary education, explained the functional use of the structure. The building is considered by architects, school administrators, contractors and others connected with its construction, as one of the finest examples of modern school buildings in the United States. Designed by Young and Ehlers, architects, the two most notable features of the building are the large windows and the slanted ceilings. All classrooms are constructed con-structed with ceilings slanting toward to-ward the inside of the building. |
