Bertell Bunker, prominent Holladay and Sugar House businessman, busi-nessman, was elected president of the Holladay Commercial club Tuesday morning. Other officers chosen were Mel-vin Mel-vin Stevens, Stevens Goods Co., vice president; Darrell Stevens, State Realty, second vice president; presi-dent; LaVon Smith, chairman of the advertising committee, and Claude Anderson, Anderson Shoes, member of the committee. Lillian Boyce, who has been employed by the group as secretary-treasurer, will continue to act in that capacity. ca-pacity. The new officers succeed George Glade, president; Carlos Smith and Clawson Silver, who have worked diligently the past year for the betterment of the community and the promotion of Holladay business busi-ness district. The group met at Peeler's cafe on Highland drive for a breakfast. Late Friday night shopping hours, inaugurated March 18, was discussed by the group, and the program will be continued with bargains consistently offered, as well as providing shopping hours for Holladay people who work down town.
