Show Si. ELBERT R. CURTIS TALKS AT SCOUT JAMBOREE Elbert R. Curtis, superintendent of the YMjMIA, returned Thursday from California where he had attended the national Boy Scout jamboree. Pres. Curtis represented the LDS church at the evening service, participated in the convocation service f.long with a Jewish rabi, Catholic Cath-olic priest and Protestant bishop. "May the Almighty strengthen us in our efforts to go forward in the faith of our fathers and in the consecrated effort to demonstrate to the world that men under God may live closely together in peace and liberty," was Supt. Curtis' prayer. Sunday- evening July 19 Supt. Curtis conducted the service when 1500 Boy Scouts of the LDS faith gathered on Brown mountain to hear Joseph L. Wirthlin presiding bishop of the LDS church. Mr. Curtis was accompanied on the trip with his wife and daughter Lucille. |
