Show SUP To Discuss State Park Plans H. Ward McCarty, executive secretary National Society Sons of Utah Pioneers, announced today a meeting of the Board of Directors of the society will be held Saturday, Satur-day, June 23, 7 p.m. at the Pioneer Village, 2998 Connor St. (2998 So. 2150 East). A buffet dinner will be served on the village lawn and a charge of $1.50 a plate will be made. Proposed state parks will be discussed dis-cussed and reasons for areas preserved pre-served as state parks as opposed to national parks will be aired at the meeting. Mr. McCarty announced colored slides and maps of many areas will be shown. It was pointed out that grazing rights, water rights and townsites can be continued under state park regulations so that no honest groups stand to be hurt when the parks are created. The areas are easily obtainable from the government if they will be designated as state parks. The meeting is not called for the benefit of any group or organization organ-ization but in the belief that Utah's resources are for Utah to be conserved by Utah . . . to be developed by Utah and administered admin-istered by Utah. Chapter president, vice presidents, presi-dents, and other officers are invited in-vited to attend the meeting. |
