Show JACK P. CLARKS WELCOME NEIGHBORS AT GARDEN AFFAIR Mr. and Mrs. Jack P. Clark entertained en-tertained their neighbors, 60 strong, Thursday evening with an outdoor dinner party at their home, 2368 East 3395 South. Guests were saluted by a gay "Welcome Neighbors" Neigh-bors" sign at the entrance to the brightly decorated, Japanese lanterned lan-terned scene. Decorations were executed ex-ecuted by RaNae Clark. Walt Burdette acted as master of ceremonies, and features of the evening were the Hammond organ music provided by Robert P. Ma-nookin Ma-nookin of Provo, and a tape recording re-cording received from Sidney and Alice Ottley in New Zealand. Elizabeth and Warren Ottley set up their recording equipment so the party guests could each speak an answering word of greeting to the senior Ottley's down under. Honored guests were Bishop and Mrs. Les Goates of East Mill Creek ward, former bishop and Mrs. LeRoy Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Loftus Sheffield and Mr. and Mrs. William Callister. An abundance of hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, cake, watermelon and punch was on the dinner menu. Bishop Goates pronounced the blessing on the food. Designed to promote more social activity as a neighborhood group, the event is the forerunner of a number of such activities in the future. The Clarks entertained 34 children chil-dren of the neighborhood at a party Friday evening. Mrs. Clark related, "We found that both children chil-dren and parents had more fun with separate parties for we could plan entertainment to suit the age levels. |
