Show Utah growth strong according to bank A report issued by Commercial Security Bank of Salt Lake City indicates the economic growth of Utah has continued to grow at a moderate pace over the past few months. The report states tourism is now Utah's biggest industry, with over $1.3 billion being spent last year by more than 10 million visitors. CSB SAYS non-farm employment employ-ment in the state has grown by 18.000 jobs over the past 12 months, an increase of 2.9 percent. The majority of job creation has been in the service and defense-related defense-related employment sectors. The report also states that the Salt Lake City metro area, including includ-ing Davis, Utah and Weber Counties, Coun-ties, is predicted to be one of the ten fastest growing areas in the country over the remainder of the century. |
