Show LEE SET SUP HOME WEEK Governor J. Bracken Lee today proclaimed the week of Sept. 10-18 as national home week and called upon the citizens of Utah to share in its observance. The governor's proclamation in part said, "Home ownership is one of the foundations of good citizenship citizen-ship and provides a most desirable environment for the future citizens of our communities. The continuing continu-ing efforts of our home builders in providing new homes for all our people is an outstanding contribution con-tribution to this end." "" In Utah a home show of unprecedented un-precedented size, "The Parade of Homes," will be held during the week. Thirty modern model homes will be on display at two different sites. One ot these homes, valued at about $18,000 will be given away. In addition a lot valued at $3000 will be awarded to some lucky family. The Utah Home Builders Association, Asso-ciation, one of the nation's oldest, is sponsoring this unique event for the second successive year. The 1954 parade attracted in excess of 50,000 visitors. The parade of homes building sites are located on 56th South below Highland Drive and on 64th South above State Street. The formal for-mal opening is slated for Saturday, Sept. 10, at 4:30 p.m. |
