Show Olympus Jr. High By Nick Sturgeon A school historian may be chosen for Olympus Jr. if a proposed amendment to the school constitu-j constitu-j tion is passed by a two-thirds majority ma-jority of the student-body on October Oc-tober 2(i. The proposed Historian would be member of the executive body, along with the school president, presi-dent, vice-president, secretary, and faculty advisor. The Historian's duty would be to keep a written record of all assemblies, games, programs and other events of importance. The movie Them will be shown to the student-body on Hallowe'en, October 31, in the Olympus Jr. Auditorium. Au-ditorium. Each student has paid fifteen cents for the privilege of seeing this show. The Olympus Jr. "Bulldogs" now have a 1-2 record in volleyball. They lost their first game to Central Cen-tral Jr. by a score of 29-18 at Central Cen-tral on October 10th, and evened up their record with a 49-24 victory over Kearns Jr. at Olympus on October Oc-tober 18. They vei edged out by Valley Jr. in a low-scoring game 13-9, at Valley on October 25th. Eight teachers on the Olympus Jr. staff are new to the school this year. Ihe new faculty members are Mrs. Uno, Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Bor-ren, Bor-ren, Mr. Kennington, Mr. McBride, Mr. Blomquist, Mr. Buckmiller, and Mr. Knight. Several school clubs have been formed. Among them are a speech club, a bowling club, a music club, a skiing club, a rifle club, and both ice and roller skating clubs. A Pep club will encourage school spirit at home games. Each club is required to have fifteen pledged members and a faculty sponsor before it can be officially organized. |
