Show SUGAR HOUSE MAN UPPED Ifl KOREA WAR WITH THE 7TH INFANTRY DIV. IN KOREA Melvin C. j Husbands of Salt Lake City, Utah, who was recently promoted to private first class, is serving with the seventh infantry division in Korea. His division is taking part in patrol action against the reds on the central front, where the temperature tem-perature often rises to 100 degrees or more during the day and at night drops to below 60. PFC Husbands arrived in Korea last March and is now serving in the personnel section of the 17th infantry regiment, a part of the seventh division. He entered the army in January, 1951, and has since earned the Korean service medal with two campaign stars, the United Nations Na-tions service medal and the army of occupation medal for service in Japan. A 1948 graduate of the University Univer-sity of Utah, he was employed as a civil engineer in civilian life. His wife Noreen lives at 2505 Commonwealth avenue, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford A. Husbands, live at 976 Bryan avenue, ave-nue, Salt Lake City. |
