Kelsey of 2138 Lake Street who celebrates celebra-tes the anniversary of his birth on April 30th. Mr. Kelsey own-es own-es his own home and has lived at his present address since March 1925, therefore, is well known by Sugar House residents. Eli was born at Stockton, Utah in 1886. His parents moved to Salt Lake City shortly after his birth and he attended the various elementary school as a youth. Aftr completing his education at the West High School he worked as a grocery clerk and later salesman sal-esman for the Salt Lake Hardware Hard-ware Company. In November, 1907, he began working for the Utah Light and Traction Company as an operator opera-tor and has served the public in that capacity to the present time. Besides wearing three silver stars on his operators cap, which signifies sig-nifies that he has operated over 10 years without a chargable accident, ac-cident, he also wears a National Safety Council award for having operated one year without an ac cident of any kind. Mr. Kelsey has a dynamic personality, per-sonality, is a man of versatility and boundless energy. He was President of the Amalgated Association As-sociation of Street, Electric Railway Rail-way and Motor Coach Operators from 1930 to 1936. Was the local lo-cal unions representative to the bi-annual international convention conven-tion hcld in San Francisco in 1930 and the one held in Toronto, Canada Can-ada in 1932. Is now and has been Vice President of the Utah State Federation of Labor and President Presi-dent of the Utah Light and Traction Trac-tion Company Credit Union for the past ten years. Mr. Kelsey celebrated his natal na-tal day at home in the company of his family. THE BULLETIN also extends greetings and best wishes to Mr. A. D. Ashby of 2605 McClelland Mc-Clelland Street on his birthday, May 3rd, and Mr. Geo. G Judd of 2215 East 32nd South Street on his birthday, May 4th, both operators for the Utah Light and Traction Company. |
