Show Summer School Begins June 15 The University of Utah Summer Sum-mer School will hold its session from June 15 to July 23 this year, offering a greatly expanded program pro-gram of classes to accomodate war time needs, according to Dr. John T. Wahlquist, dean of the School of Education, and summer school director. The cirriculum of each department depar-tment will be enlarged, with the specific aim of offering complete preparation for teachers who will return to the profession next fall, Dr. Wahllquist added. Courses outside the field of education will also be offered. In some sections of the state the shortage of properly trained teachers has become acute, and the session will enable teachers to earn enough credits to renew their certificates. Special features of the summer school will include the convention of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, June 15 to 20. The Institute on Family Fam-ily Life will convene from June 24 to 26. It is an annual convention conven-tion for parents, prepared in cooperation co-operation with the Parent Teachers Teach-ers organizations and clubs ail over the state. The Institute of Professional Relations will meet July 22 and 23 to discuss "The Teaching Profession and the present pres-ent World Crisis." Classes will be taught by visiting vis-iting experts in distributing occupations, oc-cupations, language arts, library science, psychology, speech, interior in-terior decoration, art appreciation apprecia-tion and criticism. |
