Show 4 Million Chicks Produced in Utah Of the 4,000,000 chickens produced pro-duced in Utah nearly half, or 1,875,000 were hatched in Utah Hatcheries according to figures released by the International Baby Chick Association. There are in Utah 28 hatcheries that produce baby chicks and turkey poults. The figures given above indicate that last year a greater great-er percentage is being produced within the state and be speaks the growing popularity for the locally produced birds. Utah hatcheries are located from Lo gan on the north to St. George on the south. They operate voluntarily vol-untarily under state and national nation-al controlled programs for the advancement of the quality of baby chicks and turkey poults produced. These hatcheries hare tremendous investments in modern-up-to-date equipment and hatching facilities. They contribute con-tribute greatly to the revenue of the state and have capacity for the production of most of the birds needed in Utah some of which are now supplied from outside sources. |
