Show At the Ski Meet Ecker's Hill seemel to be the gathering place for many East , Mill Creek residents last Tuesday Tues-day when the National Ski Jump Tournament took place. We spotted Mr. and Mrs. Lercy M. Strand who seemed to be able . to give first-hand information on all the contestants. It is Mr. Strand's father, Mark A. Strand, who brought the first pair of skis to Utah, way back in Kill, l and who has been active in promoting pro-moting this and many other ski events here in Utah. Also in the know were Mr. and Mrs. Roald'' " 1 Amundsen. Roald was one of the officials on nhe hill. The teen-age group of the community was well represented represent-ed by Wayne Neff, Gerald Nay-lor, Nay-lor, Howard Love, Bob Lambert, Cor Holfman, Bob Davis, Verio Ottley and Bud Glade. We saw Mr. and Mis. Gale lird chatting with Bishop Ot-:ley, Ot-:ley, and among others pres-ant pres-ant were Jean Bagley. Darlene Ilurdette and Pave Weincr. Tt seems that two of our boys had dates with thier Moms for the event and they were Dean Parkin who escorted his moth?r Mrs. Ruby Parkin, and Ted Bolton Bol-ton who escorted his mother, Mrs. Alpha Bolton. Incidentally, if you see anyone else with red faces, they were also there. |
