Show Swanee Singers A Founder Honored John C. Donalson, widely known organizer of the Swanee Singers, was honored Sunday evening at the family home. JJ E. 17th South St. The party for immediate family fam-ily members is being given in honor of Mr. Donalson's seventy-fifth birth anniversary on Thursday. He was born Feb.. 16, 1875, in Salt Lake City, and has been a lifetime resident'of the city. For many years he was in the candy business and later the real estate business. In later years he became affiliated with the Wasatch Lawn Mtemorial Park institution. For the past three years he has been retiried. He was married to Effie Marsh in the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple about 54 years ago. Mrs. Donalson died in 1940. Mr. Donalson has been an active ac-tive member of the Churclj Jesus Christ of Lattertwy Saints for many years. He was especially active in the organization organi-zation of the Richards Ward. At present he is a Seventy in the Marlborough Ward. He has been active as a ward teacher, as president of the Richards Ward choir, chairman of the Richards Ward finance committee, commit-tee, and had charge of all amusement activities of the ward for many years. He has two sons and two daughters: Mrs. C. R. Cornwall, Earl Donalson, Mrs. George A McClellan, and V D. Donalson, all of Salt Lake City. He also has nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. |
