Show SUP Names Story Contest Winner SUP encampment at Brighton August 5-7. Harold H. Jensen and Francis Piatt assisted Mr. Morgan. Dr. Richard R. Lyman is state chairman for the contest. John Schreiner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Schreiner, 1283 East South Temple St., Saturday was named first place winner in the Sons of Utah Pioneers Luncheon Club story contest. The winner received S25 in cash, while the second prize of S20 went to Abram Owen Smoot V, 1245 Fourth East St. Other winners included Karl G. Top-ham, Top-ham, 423 Seventh Ave., $13; La-Juana La-Juana Sorensen, Salina, $10, and Helen Loye Jensen, Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, 5. Judges for the story contest were Mayor Earl J. Glade, Dr. A. Ray Olpin, president of the University of Utah, and Dr. M. Lynn Bennion, superintendent of Salt Lake City schools. Winners of the first three places in the contest were guests of honor at the luncheon club meeting Wednesday, at which time they received their prizes, according to Fred E. Curtis, president. Nicholas G. Morgan Sr., chairman chair-man of the contest committee, said the five winning stories would be entered in the statewide state-wide contest of the SUP, in which gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded the first tfcu-ee places.
