Show Aurelia B. Calioon Retires Y7ITH the retirement of Aurelia Bennion Cahoon as head ' librarian of Sugar House's Sprague Library, this community com-munity has lost a charming personality, an untiring public servant and a good and pleasant friend. Mrs. Cahoon assures as-sures her friends that she Is not lost to the community, however. how-ever. Her retirement will allow her the time to "keep house," to travel and to give more time to the numerous civic, educational, edu-cational, social and charitable organizations with which she has been associated for a number of years. ' We are delighted for Mrs. Cahon that she can do the things she wants to do, after 25 years of devoted service in library work in Salt Lake and Sugar House. She deserves a rest. For the past eight years she has been librarian at Sprague Library in Sugar House. In that time she has done a wonderful wonder-ful job and has made the library a central attraction for old and young alike Library (facilities have been expanded; many organizations meet periodically in its clean, cheerful rooms. A weekly baby clinic Is held, offering valuable medical advice ad-vice and training to southeast parents. Book facilities have also increased and expanded under Mrs. Cahoon's stewardship. Thousands of books and period- , icals have been added. In addition, a children's book section sec-tion has been opened up, giving youngsters a library of their own, with its own entrance In the basement. In community activities, too, Aurelia Bennion Cahoon 3ias been a selfless, ever-cheerful worker. Sugar House and ;( the public have benefited. The BULLETIN, joins with the entire business, professional profes-sional and social community and the thousands of men, women wom-en and children in the area in thanking Mrs. Cahoon for all : she has done. She was a great friend and we shall miss her. We wish her God-speed and much happiness in her retirement. |
