Show Building Officials Conference Set For Hotel Utah September 18-21 neer of Los Angeles County, California, is Treasurer; and Hal Colling of Los Angeles, California, is Managing-Secretary. There are already 630 cities and counties now operating operat-ing under the Code, including Salt Lake City, 23 cities and 4 counties in Utah. The following members are serving with Mr. Hargreaves on the committee : Roy W. McLeese, Harold C. Hargreaves, chief building inspector of Salt Lake City together with Mrs. Hargreaves Har-greaves and a committee of 14, is actively at work planning the 29th Annual Business Meeting 20th Annual Business Meeting of the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference being held at Hotel Utah, September 18-21, 1951, with important committee meetings on September 17. More than 300 building officials will attend. The organization, in which Salt Lake City is an Active member, is a group of building officials which has written and is maintaining the Uniform Building Code for adoption in cities throughout the United States. A. W. Russell, building official of San Mateo County, California, is President; Arthur G. Hoefer, building inspector of Spokane, Washington, is First Vice-President; Gilbert E. Morris, Mor-ris, superintendent of building of Los Angeles, California, is second Vice-President; Cassatt D. Griffin, Assistant chief engi- city engineer, Salt Lake City, Utah ; Roscoe Boden, county surveyor, sur-veyor, Salt Lake City, Utah; David H. Wood, city engineer, Murray; Keith T. Coleman, building official, Provo, Utah ; Lloyd J. Nuffer, office engineer, Ogden, Utah ; and Maurice M. Marler, building inspector, Logan, Lo-gan, Utah. Highlights of the entertainment entertain-ment include a reception, buffet supper and dancing at the Elks Club, a barbecue and entertainment entertain-ment at Mill Creek Canyon ; a trip to the Bingham Copper Mines and an Annual Banquet at the Lafayette Ballroom of the Hotel. |
