Show Utah Legionnaires Urged to Name Schramm National Committeeman To represent the State of Utah and the Department of Utah of the American Legion in behaif of the World War Veterans, former Department Commander Norman L Sims, and other department officers, including F. R. Thomas-son, Thomas-son, Charles R. Mabey, Henry E. Oogard, Stephen J. Maloney and others have advanced the name of Clem S. Schramm for the post of national committeeman for 1945-1947. 1945-1947. The election will be held at the state department convention for the year. Mr. Schramm is well known throughout the state. He was ad-jutant ad-jutant for Salt Lake City Post No. 2 for 5 years, post commander for a year, and department commander com-mander for a year. In addition he has been state controller for the Utah Council of Defense, in charge of all defense activities of the state for five years, and has been chairman of the National Defense Committee of the State Department for five years. He is still officer in charge of aearly $265,000 worth of defense equipment for the state in behalf of the national government, and has overall supervision of auxiliary auxili-ary police and fire officers and forest-fire fighters and has control of" the equipment which supplies them. His work, mostly voluntary, volun-tary, extends into every facet of American Legion activity. Upon the basis of his wide experience, ex-perience, many of the state's leading legionnaires are asking the cooperation of the various posts in sponsoring his candidacy for 'national committeeman, and re-' re-' commends his candidacy to every 'post meeting or district conven-I conven-I tion. |
