Show Oii EMC Way Everyone eels Carnival Spirit By Mai-y Lythgoe Clutching pad and pencil feverishly fev-erishly in my chubby little hand, I flitted eagerly from booth to booth to see What I could see. It was carnival time in East Mill Creek, and there was plenty to see. The first thing spotted was the jail, and who should be peering out from behind the bars but MARLENE WILDE and ELWIN BURKE, who had probably been penalized penal-ized for laughing at a cap. That the cop snoopervising the place happened to be SHERMAN YOUNG in huge false nose and small horn-rimimed specs had nothing whatever to do with it, of course. Couldn't miss ROY MAL-LORY, MAL-LORY, wno looked truly festive in red sweater and the hungry look in the eye. Must've been the chicken dinners that brought on the hungry look. STEVE STRAW was losing no time in eating them (chicken, that is)- KAREN JOSEPH, RUTH SIDWELL, EVA BATH and CAROL BATH were all running around in levis looking for food. JEAN and STEW MANWILL were dowing watermelon, while tne thoughtful look on FRANK JORGENSEN'S face could mean only one thing he was thinking of riding on the merry-go-round. MARLENE HEUGLY was drooling over the cakes; MARILYN MARI-LYN WHITE was munching popcorn; JANICE CLAYSON was absorbing the music from the bandstand. Caught PEGGY MOSS and MARY HARMON gazing longingly at the dart booth. DIXIE DANSIE was no doubt getting a large charge from the "Jungle Fury" booth which consisted of throwing bean tags at cardboard animals. Saw STARR RANDALL before the photographic stand, probably prob-ably debating as to which side of his face to have "shot." MARGARET jand DUANE CIIRISTENSEN were showing their little LINDA JEAN the pony cart, which was carrying a group of excited children around the park. BEVERLY and SHERRY BRINTON, ESTHER ES-THER WELLE R. NORMA WALKER, and PAT NYE were also milling around looking gay. Everyone there couldn't help but agree that carnival time was fun time, and that MICKEY HART had done a wonderful job with festivities. Even I mu. admit that a carnival means plenty to see, do and eat. |
