Probably everyone remembers some back-yard acting from their childhood. Would be fun to exchange notes on our his-tronic his-tronic activities in the clays of yore, wouldn't it? Or maybe your own children are now trod-drng trod-drng the boards. Let's hear from some of you talented thes-pians. thes-pians. As long as kids continue to present neighborhood shows, the theater is not dead. The Milton Avenue trio sang "Dearie, Take Me Out to the Ball Game," "Springtime in Alaska" and "I Climbed Up the Stalirs," all with appropriate gestures ges-tures and properties. Terry showed a great deal of natural talent. The feature attraction was an original play in three, no four, my goodness! I lost count of the number of acts. Directed by Kathleen and Terry. The story concerned John and Jean's visit vis-it to their grandmother's house. Danny Thulin and Nancy Po-banz Po-banz were .cast as John and Jean. Grandma was Kathleen. John and Jean found a book of ghost stories in the attic and also found five ghosts there. The play showed much imagination. im-agination. Instead of having the children come in and just stand while they breathlessly informed their grandmother of their Ifind, the authors had Grandma call the kids to supper, sup-per, and they talked while they ate with their mouths full, at that! The entire cast showed good stage presence and remembered their lines. The ghosts were portrayed by Linda Call, Kath-erine Kath-erine Thornton, Patsy Slade, Billie Lou Slade and Marjie Kleinberg. |
